We meet on the third Saturday of each month from September-November and January-May. There are no meetings in June, July, August or December. Live meetings will resume as soon as the situation with COVID-19 will allow it. Watch the welcome page for the link for our next Zoom meeting.
Everyone is welcome to attend our branch meetings and to join us for lunch afterward.
Each meeting features a short educational session, a brief business meeting and a more in-depth talk. The presentations are timely, informative and interesting.
A condensed version of the speaker’s presentation from each meeting is also published in our newsletter, Kingston Relations. Learn more on our Newsletter page. All members of Kingston Branch receive a copy of our newsletter either electronically (PDF) or through the mail. To find out how you can join the Kingston Branch and regularly receive your own copy of our newsletter, visit our Membership page.
We invite you to join us at our next meeting!
DATES and TIMES
Dates and topics of upcoming meetings can be found on the Welcome page of this website.
Meetings are held on the third Saturday of the month. We begin with a brief talk on a genealogical topic of interest at 9:30 a.m., a very short business meeting at 10:00 a.m. and then the featured speaker or program.
Members and visitors are welcome to come between 9:00 and 9:30 a.m. to work on their genealogy or brainstorm with other members about brick-wall ancestors or other research questions.
Coffee and tea are available for a small donation.
The meetings end by noon, after which a number of those in attendance go for lunch together in order to continue genealogical discussions.
We meet in the Sir John A. Macdonald Room at the Seniors Centre East, 56 Francis Street, Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Parking is plentiful and free. For bus routes and other contact information, visit the Contact Us page of the Seniors Centre website.
For our usual lunch after the meeting, we gather at The Greek Islands at 331 Bath Road. It’s on the north side of Bath Road between Sir John A. Macdonald Blvd and Portsmouth Avenue. Lunch meetings will resume as soon as the situation with COVID-19 will allow it.
The easiest way to get there from the Seniors Centre is this:
- exit Francis Street to Mowat Avenue
- turn left (north) up Mowat to Johnson Street
- turn RIGHT on Johnson and go to Sir John A. Macdonald
- turn LEFT up Sir John (northbound) to Bath Road
- turn LEFT onto Bath Road.
The Greek Islands restaurant will be on your right, two-thirds of the way to Portsmouth Avenue.
If you want to look over their lunch menu ahead of time, it is available on the website of the Greek Islands Restaurant.
