Regular Branch Meetings
The Kingston Branch of OGS meets eight times per year, on the third Saturday of each month from September through November and January through May. There are no meetings in June, July, August or December.
All of our meetings are now held on Zoom.
In 2025, the May and October meetings are hybrid, when we meet in-person while the meeting is being broadcast on Zoom. This gives those who are interested in and able to travel the chance to meet other Branch members face-to-face.
Each meeting features a brief business meeting and an in-depth talk, with opportunities for question and answer. The presentations are usually timely, informative and interesting.

Visitors are welcome to attend any of our meetings either on Zoom, or In-Person when the meeting is hybrid.

Networking / Social Lunches
On the second Tuesday of every month from September to May, anyone who wishes is welcome to join us for a casual lunch, where the topic of discussion is invariably genealogy.
We meet at noon, usually at the “Loaf n’ Ale” on Gardiner’s Road in Kingston. Each person buys their own lunch, and we are usually finished by 2:00 p.m.

Networking / Social Picnics
For the warmer months — June, July, and August — we meet on the second Tuesday of the month for a bring-your-own picnic at the pavilion at Lake Ontario Park (920 King Street West).
All are welcome to join us, and the genealogy discussion picks up where we left off in May. We meet at noon and are usually finished by 2:00 p.m.
In the event of rain on the scheduled picnic Tuesday, we try again the following Thursday.

Special Events
When an opportunity comes up, the Kingston Branch OGS arranges a special event. Past events have included the 50th Anniversary Celebration in October 2023, excursions to document headstones in cemeteries, and Genealogy Drop-in Workshops at the Kingston Library.
