On Saturday, July 4th the Bedford District Historical Society is hosting their annual Open House. The theme Surrounding History – Bedford Opportunities, highlights the many societies and museums in the broader area.
This event is a three-part open house program featuring displays and information from a variety of societies and museums, including the Kingston Branch OGS. Other participating groups include:
- Sharbot Lake Historical Society
- The Old Stone Mill – Delta
- Newboro, Portland, Chaffey’s Locks Historical Societies and Municipal Heritage Advisory Committee
- South Frontenac Museum
- South Frontenac Heritage Advisory Committee
- Westport Museum
The afternoon will also feature a keynote presentation by Dr. John Gray titled “The Tetts and Chaffeys – Bedford Townships’ Earliest Entrepreneurs,” as well as an Author’s Book Corner.
