In Memoriam: Bev Elliott Harris

We regret to report that Beverley Elliott Harris passed away on 7 May 2026. Bev was a member of the Kingston Branch for 34 years (1980 through 2013). She joined the Branch Council in 1982 and, except for 1990-1992, remained on Council until she moved to Bobcaygeon to be near family.

This photograph, from the 1990s, shows Bev Elliott with three other intrepid cemetery transcribers. From left to right are Pam Macdonald, Barbara Bonner, Bev Elliott, and Barb Berrigan.

Over the years, Bev held the following positions on Branch Council: Mailing, Newsletter Editor (two separate terms), Corresponding Secretary, Library (four separate terms), Cemeteries, Publications, Vice Chair, Chair and Past Chair. Bev was always willing to help where needed and always had a smile and a laugh.

In death, Bev returned to Cataraqui Cemetery to rest beside her first husband, Grange Elliott. Our sincere sympathies to her daughter, Nancy, and the rest of her family.
